The Governor of Diwaniyah, Maytham Abd al-Ilah al-Shahd, discussed with Éric Chevalier, French Ambassador to Iraq, on Wednesday, the implementation of service and urban projects.
The reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said, "A press conference was held between the Governor of Diwaniyah, Maitham Abd al-Ilah al-Shahd, with the with Éric Chevalier, French Ambassador to Iraq, in the Diwaniyah Governorate building."
The French ambassador explained that "the visit to Diwaniyah aims to establish a partnership with the local government and implement service and construction projects in Diwaniyah."
He added, "We have a water project in the eastern district of Hamza, and work is continuing well."
For his part, the governor of Diwaniyah confirmed that "the ambassador's visit is the first to Diwaniyah, and ways of cooperation were discussed and it was agreed to implement projects directly or through bank loans."
