IPBL: Ongoing Tamkeen initiative to support projects in the governorates

    The Iraqi Private Banks League confirmed on Monday, that Tamkeen initiative continues to support projects in the governorates while indicating that Prime Minister Muhammed S. Al-Sudani is supportive of reviving the heart of the capital and its historical center.

    "Tamkeen initiative continues, and last week there was direct support from PM Al-Sudani to revive the heart of the capital, Baghdad, and its historical center, which extends from Al-Qishla to the Wali's Palace and the surrounding area in addition to Al-Rasheed Street and the street opposite to Al-Baghdadi Museum and Al-Mustansiriya School," said the Executive Director of the League, Ali Tariq Al-Mustafa, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    He added, "Work on these projects will begin next May and will be in 4 stages, as it is one of the largest projects that Tamkeen Fund will undertake. The initiative is currently working in Najaf to rehabilitate Zain Al-Abidin Street and three other buildings as a model, and it is hoped that work will be completed in the coming weeks."

    "The initiative has action plans in the governorates of Kirkuk, Erbil, and Mosul, as there is an expansion to include all governorates in the initiative," he included.
