A joint security force launched a large-scale security operation in western Nineveh Governorate.

A statement of the Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF website, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "The forces of the 33rd Brigade at PMF, the 16th Division of the Iraqi Army, and the operations and intelligence departments of the Nineveh Operations Command, launched at dawn on Friday, a large-scale security operation to search the mountains of Adayah, the quarries of Ain Al-Jahsh, and the strategic road towards the west of Nineveh Governorate.

The statement indicated that "the operation aims to impose security and stability in the west of the province, to pursue the terrorists and destroy their hideouts."
