The Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence denied on Friday, the European Union's objection to the new electronic passport.
The Director General of the Directorate, Major General Riyad Jundi Al-Kaabi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The European Union did not object to the new electronic passport," noting that “This news is fabricated by some websites."
He stressed that "The new passport is now approved by the World Aviation Organization, which approved the passports," noting that "Iraq has obtained an official letter from the World Aviation Organization approving the electronic passport."
