The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Sayyed Ammar al-Hakim, congratulated Today, Saturday, the Assyrians and Chaldeans on the occasion of the Babylonian New Year.

Al-Hakim said in his tweet, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA):
"We congratulate our brothers the Christians, especially the Assyrians, in our beloved homeland and in various parts of the world, on the occasion of the Babylonian-Chaldean New Year (Akitu), which marks the beginning of April every year, We take this honorable opportunity to express our pride in all religions, sects and components of our homeland, looking forward for the contribution of all its children in the building and consolidating the principle of peaceful coexistence throughout Iraq.”
