Launching a large-scale security operation in Kirkuk, Salah al-Din: PMF

    A joint security force carried out on Saturday, a large-scale operation with the participation of the Iraqi army and security forces in the governorates of Kirkuk and Salah al-Din, to pursue ISIS terrorist cells and restrict the movements of their members between the two governorates.
     
    The Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that, "the commands of Kirkuk, East Tigris, and North Axis operations, with the participation of the Iraqi army and security forces, carried out a raid, search, and security operation in the common areas between the governorates of Kirkuk and Salah al-Din."
     
    The statement added, "The security operation was carried out by the 61st, 52nd, 16th, and 63rd 40th Brigades, the Special Missions Regiment, the Special Operations Command Regiment within the Kirkuk and East Tigris Commands, and the North Axis Command at PMF, in cooperation with the supporting directorates."
     
    "The army forces, rapid response and army aviation also participated in the security operation behind the mountain range of Tuz district in Salah al-Din governorate,” the statement continued.
     
     
    The security operation aims to secure the targeted operations area, destroy a number of ISIS hideouts.
