The national document for population policies explained, Ministry of Planning

    INA - BAGHDAD 

    The Ministry of Planning announced on Wednesday, the contents of the national document for population policies, which was recently approved by the Supreme Population Council.

    "The ministry, in light of fulfilling sustainable development goals 2030, is working, via the five-year sustainable development plans, to accommodate the population increases that Iraq is witnessing, by developing policies aimed at empowering people access to services and provide them with a decent life," said the ministry's spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    He explained, "The ministry has prepared the updated national document for population policies, in coordination with the United Nations Population Fund, and the document included of long-term visions, via a number of important and basic aspects, foremost of which is giving sufficient attention to population issues within the national development plans and work to channel the gap in the housing sector, improve the level of education, develop the health sector, focus on family planning issues, improve the level of income, empower youth, support vulnerable segments, achieve partnerships and empower women, as well as pay attention to research and studies on population issues."

    "The Supreme Population Council, which is chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad S. al-Sudani, recently approved this document," he included.
