Al-Mandalawi recalls Pope's visit: Iraqis have preserved their national belonging throughout history

    First Deputy Speaker of the parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, affirmed on Monday, that the Iraqis have preserved throughout history their thought, their human heritage, and their national belonging.
    "Iraq's cultural depth and its regional and international prestige confirm that religious, sectarian and ethnic diversity is one of what enhances the strength of this country,"said Al-Mandalawi in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency (INA).Noting that "the Iraqis have preserved throughout history their thought, their human heritage, and their national belonging."
     
    “The visit of the Pope of the Vatican to Iraq and his meeting with the Supreme Religious Authority in the honorable Najaf is an acknowledgment of the depth of the spirit of love, coexistence and tolerance by which our people live and derives the strength of their presence and will to overcome the challenges. Let this spirituality prevail over all other affiliations and narrow factional interests, for a powerful and capable Iraq," the statement added.
