The Ministry of Environment announced the trend to use advanced technology in surveying operations to detect mines, which contributes to 90% of the work.
The director of the mine department in the ministry, Dhafer Mahmoud, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The environment used drones in survey operations to detect mines, and it proved tremendous success and effectiveness in relation to the non-technical survey.".
He stated, "The ministry is in the process of using other aircraft in the technical survey capable of scanning more than one hundred thousand square meters per day," explaining, "This will shorten the work time by 90%.".
He added, "The experiment will be in the city of Mosul, and in the coming days we will accompany the explosives control school in the Ministry of Defense, so that there is a final decision to use these aircraft."
