The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, discussed with the Commander of the International Coalition Forces, Major General Matthew McFarlane, joint military cooperation in the fields of training and armament.
A statement by the Ministry of Defense, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, "The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, met on Tuesday, the commander of the international coalition forces, Major General Matthew McFarlane, and from the Iraqi side, the Director of Military Intelligence attended."
According to the statement "During the meeting, they discussed and strengthened cooperation and joint coordination in the military field, especially in (training and armament), in addition to providing logistical support to develop the capabilities and competences of the Iraqi army in a way that secures its readiness to confront terrorist challenges and stabilize the country."
