Police Affairs Agency: A suspect who beheaded a girl and burned it arrested east of Baghdad

    Police Affairs Agency announced Saturday the arrest of a suspect who beheaded a girl and burned it, east of Baghdad.

     The agency said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the People's Office for Combating Crime of the Police Affairs Agency managed to arrest the criminal nicknamed "Abu Tabar" for committing the crime of killing a girl and separating her head from her body in the Seven Qusour area east of Baghdad.

    The agency added, "The arrest process took place after our detachments received information about the existence of a killing incident within the aforementioned area immediately, and due to the importance of the matter, a work team was formed to follow up the incident, and after investigation and gathering information, and after a great and distinguished effort, it resulted in reaching and arresting the accused."

     "When he was interrogated, he openly admitted that he had slaughtered the girl, cut off her head and burned it with the intention of concealing the features, as his statements were recorded in the preliminary and judicial confession, and the investigating judge decided to arrest him in accordance with the provisions of Article 406 of the Penal Code to receive his just punishment."
