Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani confirmed on Tuesday, a plan for a new licensing round aimed to maximize national gas production.
Abdul Ghani said, during the signing ceremony of the fifth licensing round, which was attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The government was keen to sign the fifth licensing round," stressing that "the new licensing round will produce 250,000 barrels of crude oil per day."
"The government is making efforts to ensure investing in gas and refining industries, and we are planning a new licensing round aimed at maximizing national production of free and associated gas," he stressed.
