The Canadian government confirmed on Saturday, its readiness to rehabilitate oil pipelines and use renewable energy in Iraq.
"Canada is working with Iraq in developing many areas, especially in the area of governance,” the Canadian Ambassador Gregory Galligan, said during his speech at The 2nd Oil and Gas Show in Iraq, which was attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA). He also noted that "millions of dollars have been invested to support the Iraqi economy."
He added, "Iraq, through the development of its economy, supports empowering youth and curbing unemployment, as well as supporting education, especially for women," noting that "Canada supports Iraq in the field of environmental treatments, in addition to the cooperation in the field of oil and gas."
He stated that "Canada's leading experience in oil and gas extraction can be transferred to Iraq, especially in the area of emitted gases, exchange of experiences, rehabilitation of oil transport pipes, use of renewable energy such as solar energy, and providing the Canadian expertise, especially in the technological fields."
