The Higher Committee for Relief in Syria honored on Wednesday, the head of the Iraqi Relief Mission and Chief of Staff of the Popular Mobilization Forces(PMF), Abdul Aziz Al-Muhammadawi, in appreciation of Iraq's role in supporting the Syrian people in facing the effects of the earthquake that struck the country.
PMF stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Syrian Higher Committee for Relief honored al-Muhammadawi for his great role in supporting the Syrian people in facing the effects of the earthquake that struck the country."
The statement added, "The head of the Syrian committee, Hussein Makhlouf, handed a book of thanks and a shield of honor to al-Muhammadawi," praising "the assistance provided by the Republic of Iraq to the Iraqi people and its standing with Syria."
In turn, Al-Muhammadawi stressed that "Iraq considers it its human and moral duty to stand by the brothers in Syria."
