Minister of Justice: The government has placed the human rights file among the priorities of its program

    Minister of Justice Khalid Shawani confirmed that the government has placed the human rights file among the priorities of its program, pointing to the start of protecting human rights against any violations.
     
    The media of the Ministry of Justice said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Justice Minister Khaled Shawani presided today, the periodic meeting of the Supreme Committee for writing international reports on human rights," noting that "the meeting was attended by members of the National Committee for writing reports from ministries and institutions concerned," noting that "the minister discussed with the ministries and competent authorities the paragraphs of the report, to enrich it with more information, leading to the preparation of a report consistent with the standards of the United Nations for human rights."
     
    Shawani stressed that "the government has already begun to protect human rights against any violations, and has made great strides in this regard, and places human rights at the forefront of its priorities, and it is among the requirements for implementing the government program."
     
    He added, "The Ministry of Justice seeks that the recommendations that will be presented in the reports whose paragraphs are discussed during this meeting will be presented to the Council of Ministers for the purpose of approval, and it aims to create a unified vision for the government in dealing with this file."
