Iraq calls on Asian parliaments to play a greater role in strengthening relations between countries

    The Iraqi delegation participating in the sessions of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in Turkey called for the need for parliaments to play a greater role in strengthening relations between countries.
     
    The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Iraqi parliamentary delegation, headed by First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, met today, Tuesday, with its counterpart, the delegation of the Qatari Shura Council, on the sidelines of participation in the sessions of the Parliamentary Assembly held in the Turkish state of Antalya.”
    The two delegations stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and enhancing cooperation at the political and parliamentary level, benefiting from the experiences of the two councils in the legislative field, and for Asian parliaments to play a greater role in strengthening relations, as well as discussing the bilateral relations that bind the two countries, and ways to develop it at various levels to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples, and the necessity of coordinating positions between them in regional and international forums, and exchanging official visits between the two sides, according to the text of the statement.
