The Governor of Dhi Qar, Muhammad Hadi, announced today, Sunday the approval of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, to establish a production plant with a capacity of 3,000 megawatts.
Hadi said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the approval came based on the request submitted by the governor, after completing the initial approvals and allocating the required space."
He added, "We have an ambitious endeavor to end the suffering of the people of the province from power outages and to solve the energy crisis once and for all."
Hadi pointed out that "the project is considered the most important and largest of the province's projects since its establishment, with a value of $3 billion, and it will raise the province's production from 850 to 3850 megawatt."
