Air Force Commander reveals 2023 armament plan

The Air Force Commander, Lieutenant General Shihab Jihad, revealed on Saturday, the plan for armament in 2023.
 
Jihad told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "first of all, I extend my congratulations to all the Iraqi people and the military leadership on the 102^nd anniversary of founding the Iraqi army," pointing out that " the  plan of the Air Force Command  during the year 2023 depends on the nature of the situation and the war against terrorism."
 
He explained, "The allocations will be to preserve the existed resources, modernizing and developing the armaments in order to maintain the momentum of the current battle against ISIS terrorist gangs."
 
He added, "If we find that it is necessary to purchase a new weapon, there will be plans to submit a request to the leadership."
 
The Air Force Commander had confirmed earlier that the Iraqi Airways fleet is ready to accomplish its basic tasks, support the security forces, and secure the borders, while pointing to the need for advanced equipment in order to detect the violations at the Iraqi borders.
