European Union Mission: Iraq has made a lot of progress in the security aspect

    The European Union mission to Iraq identified today, Tuesday, the strategy of joint cooperation with Baghdad, while confirming that Iraq has made a lot of progress in the security sector.
     
    The Commander of Civil Operations for the European Union missions, Stefano Tomat, said at a press conference held in Baghdad, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary to establish the European Union's advisory mission in Iraq, which was attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The European Union's advisory mission is an example of cooperation between Iraq and the European Union, which began five years ago, and it is an opportunity to learn from the past."
    Stefano added that the capital, Baghdad, is a center and an important part of the world, indicating that "Iraq has made a lot of progress in the security sector, and the Union is keeping pace with Baghdad in progress in this sector."
    He pointed out that "work in the security sector needs long times, and issues and problems cannot be resolved within a short period," Explaining that "the union is working to intensify procedures according to the needs of Iraqis, given the national strategy and support for the coming years."
      "The presence of the European Union mission in Iraq is proceeding according to what was agreed with its government," noting that "the mission is present in the provinces, and during its recent visit to Basra province, it provided some advice regarding preparations for the 25th Gulf party." Stefano said.
    He continued, “The mission looks forward to the prosperity of Iraq through joint cooperation."
