The Ministry of Electricity announced an agreement with the Iranian side regarding the quantities of supplied gas, while it expected an increase in releases after the talks of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, with the Iranian side, during his visit to Tehran .
The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Musa, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The ministry is making great efforts, contacts and meetings with the Iranian ambassador and correspondence with the Iranian Ministry of Energy, regarding the increase in gas releases for the benefit of the stations.
Moussa added: "On this basis, the ministry informed and notified the prime minister's care and concern about the need to take care of the supplied gaseous releases file, especially in light of the incompleteness of the national fuel plan, and therefore it was among the files on the prime minister's agenda during his visit to Tehran, and he was provided with a complete file on the issue of gas and needs supplier gas.
He continued, "On this basis, we expect and hope that there will be an increase in gas emissions in favor of the ministry's stations, especially as we enter the peak of winter loads, and then we have a large and implementable plan that is urgent to keep pace with the peak of summer loads from now," stressing, "The plan needs to sufficient fuel releases, He pointed out.
"There are agreements and contracts signed between the Iraqi and Iranian sides on specific launches in winter and others in summer, and therefore negotiations are underway and there is high coordination with the Iranian side to ensure these launches and the sustainability of the stations' work," noting that "this file will be discussed in greater detail in the coming days.", he added.
