Al-Sudani emphasizes the optimal investment of oil, gas and natural resources

Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani stressed on Thursday, the importance of achieving the optimal investment of oil, gas and natural resources.

The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that " Al-Sudani chaired a meeting to discuss the integrated gas development project, with the French TotalEnergies Company CEO, Mr. Patrick Pouyanné, in addition to the presence of a number of officials in the field of oil and energy on the Iraqi side."


The statement added, "During the meeting, they discussed files for the development of gas investment in Iraq, and the progress of work in a number of major strategic projects in this regard, the first of which is the burning gas investment project in the southern region with a capacity of (600 cubic meters), as well as the Artawi field development project, and the water desalination project the joint sea, which is the projects associated with the Ministry of Oil, as well as the solar energy project associated with the Ministry of Electricity with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts."

For his part Pouyanne  expressed his company's seriousness in implementing its obligations in these projects in accordance with the mechanisms of contracting with Iraq, and its appreciation for the directives of the Prime Minister to overcome obstacles to completing implementation, and the efforts made in this field from the Iraqi side."
