President Rashid stresses the necessity of providing all requirements for journalistic work, protecting journalists

    President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid stressed on Monday, the need to provide all requirements for journalistic work and protecting media professionals.
     
    “The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, a delegation that included a group of Iraqi academics, analysts, journalists and writers,” the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    The statement added, "During the meeting, the members of the delegation congratulated the president on his election as president of the republic, expressing their optimism that the presidency of the republic under the shadow of President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid would be an extension of the path of the former president Jalal Talabani. "
     
    According to the statement, the President of the Republic appreciated the good feelings of the members of the delegation, lauding the important role played by academics, media professionals and writers in the country by conveying the citizen’s voice to the official authorities, as well as evaluating government work and enriching it through studies and research in various fields, especially in the economic aspect.”
     
    President Rashid also pointed to "the importance of the standards of professionalism, protecting civil and societal peace, and rejecting division and rumors that seek to disturb public opinion," praising "the great sacrifices made by Iraqi journalists and media professionals over the past years in order to convey the free word."
     
    He stressed, "The necessity of providing all the necessary requirements needed by the journalistic work in the country and protecting journalists and media professionals in a way that enables them to perform their humanitarian mission objectively and professionally."
