The Governor of Najaf, Majid Al-Waeli, ordered on Saturday, conducting extensive investigation regarding the water park accident.

Al-Waeli said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The fire occurred in one of the blocks that contains many shops," noting that "the Civil Defense Department detected that the building specifications do not conform with safety regulations of the civil defense and that was mentioned before in many official correspondences, but no response has been received. "

He added that "The block in which the fire took place was completely burned, while the other blocks were 100% intact, after the civil defense teams managed to control the fire, affirming that no casualties were recorded."
