Oil Minister affirms supporting IDC to compete with global companies

    Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, confirmed on Friday,  his support for the Iraqi Drilling Company-IDC to make it a profitable company.
     
    “Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani emphasized the ministry's keenness to support IDC, in order to improve performance levels and upgrade it to be a profitable company competing with international companies in terms of workload and performance,” The Ministry of Oil said in a statement, received by the Iraqi news agency(INA).
     
    The statement added that the Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, during his meeting with the senior cadres of IDC: "We are pleased with the amount of work achieved during the past period, and we aspire to raise the level of performance to make IDC one of the active profit-making company."
     
    Oil Minister also referred to “the support provided by the Ministry to IDC to implement projects for drilling and reclamation of oil wells for the benefit of national and international companies and its effective contribution to increasing production.”
     
     
    Abdul Ghani lauded "The performance of the company's personnel, stressing the importance of training them according to the latest training methods and developing their capabilities to reflect on the outstanding performance, affirming becoming an ISO certified company and international quality certification is evidence of the right path."
     
    For his part, IDC Director General Basem Abdel Karim, reviewed the projects implemented by the company, the number of operating drilling rigs and work mechanisms during the past two years to improve performance and raise levels, in addition to the challenges facing the work, stressing that “the company will be among the profitable companies during the next year due to the provided support by the ministry.
