The Council of National Security Representatives issued today, Tuesday, two decisions regarding topographic base maps and a draft memorandum of understanding between the Mine Affairs Department and the UAE.
A statement by the Media Office of the National Security Adviser, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Council of National Security Representatives held the 90th session, headed by the National Security Adviser, Qasim Al-Araji, and in the presence of the members of the Council."
"The council discussed the topics on its agenda and took the necessary decisions and recommendations regarding it." According to the statement.
"The Council decided to approve the recommendations of the committee formed in connection with (the project for the production of topographic base maps for Iraq), and to refer it to the relevant concerned authorities, to take the necessary action in this regard, according to the applicable law and instructions.
The statement pointed out that "the council directed to return (the draft memorandum of understanding between the Mine Affairs Department in the Ministry of Environment and the United Arab Emirates) to the Ministry of Environment - Mine Affairs Department, to modify it in accordance with the observations approved by the council, and to re-present it in the council, to take the appropriate decision regarding it."
