Ministry of Environment expected on Saturday, that the effects of climate change in Iraq will continue.
“Water scarcity, desertification, drought, and lack of vegetation cover are the main reasons behind the continuous climate change effects in Iraq, "Director General of the Technical Dept. at the Ministry Issa Al-Fayyadh, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added, "Climate change leads to what is known as climate extremism, affirming that Iraq is ranked fifth among the most vulnerable countries in the world to climate changes due to the scarcity of rain, the lack of water releases from neighboring countries and drought.”
