The Ministry of Health-MOH announced t on Saturday, that it receives dozens of injuries by stray bullets on daily basis, including dangerous cases, while calling for penalties against those who commit this act.
"The issue of random shootings poses a great challenge to the Ministry of Health, as many different cases are received daily, between slight and moderate, but most of them are severe cases due to being shot in the head, which causes major neurological problems and brain damage," The Director of the Awareness Division in the Information and Awareness Dept. at MOH, Nour Muhammad Ali, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Ali added, "We record dozens of these cases, as the stray bullets are fired daily, whether in weddings or clan disputes and others," calling on the concerned authorities to "take control measures, especially on those who commit such an act, to limit personal and public harm and preserve the health of citizens".
She pointed out that "there are specialized committees to submit statistics to the relevant ministries, such as the Ministry of Interior and other concerned side."
