18 Kyrgyz citizens were wounded as a result of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border conflict, Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported as of 11:00 am of September 16.
All medical facilities of Batken region went into heightened mode of functioning. The hospitals have enough stock of blood components, medicines and medical supplies for provision of medical assistance.
The armed conflict on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan began on September 14. The gunfire exchanges occurred in Bulak-Bashi, Kak-Sai, Pasky-Aryk areas. The conflict continued on September 16, when the Tajik side attacked the border guarding and civilian infrastructure of Kyrgyzstan along perimeter of the shared border.
