Minister of Water Resources directs increasing water releases to Karbala during Arbaeen pilgrimage

    Minister of Water Resources Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani directed  Friday an increase in water releases to Karbala during the pilgrimage period.

     The Director of Water Resources in the Holy Karbala, Hassanein Qahtan Al-Awwad, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "according to the directives of the Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, the ministry must harness its efforts to make the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Al-Hussein a success, that the ministry’s effort can be summed up in two axes, the first being a technical effort, where al-Hamdani instructed to increase the water releases to the holy governorate of Karbala during the pilgrimage period to ensure the proper operation of the liquefaction stations,” noting that “the second axis is summarized by a supportive effort represented by the automated effort sent by all the ministry’s formations in the governorates to support the holy governorate of Karbala.”

    He explained that "the preparations and plan made by the Directorate of Resources in the Holy Karbala before the visit bore fruit during the visit."

    For his part, Director of the Department of the Ministry of Water Resources Center and in charge of managing the field effort involved in serving pilgrims , Hatem Al-Sudani, said that "the number of vehicles participating in all specializations reached more than (210) mechanisms, and a human cadre of employees in various specializations amounted to more than (357) employees," referring to  "The effort within the Karbala-Babylon axis began to transport the visitors.”
