Al-Araji: The internal political situation is on the way to a breakthrough

    National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji confirmed, today, Thursday, that the security work is not affected by the internal political situation is on the way to a breakthrough.

    A statement issued by the media office of the National Security Adviser and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "Al-Araji received, in his office today, Thursday, the commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant-General Giovanni Inucci, and during the meeting, the work of the NATO mission in Iraq was reviewed, and the continuation of cooperation was discussed." In the field of advice and training, as well as discussing the possibility of training the Federal Police by the Italian Carabinieri, as well as cooperation in the field of intelligence and security.

    Al-Araji stressed, according to the statement, that "Iraq is keen on its relationship with NATO, and seeks to bring the relationship to the stage of partnership in the field of security and intelligence training with the intelligence services," noting that "security work is not affected by the political situation, and that the internal political situation is on the way to a breakthrough.".

    At the same time, he pointed out that "we must establish a dialogue of civilizations instead of a clash of civilizations."
    For his part, the commander of the NATO mission confirmed that "the alliance will provide support to Iraq with what it needs in the field of cybersecurity."
