British Finance Minister Nadhim Al-Zahawi said that citizens should reduce their use of energy, amid announcing the increase in the ceiling on energy prices for the month of October by 80 percent .
Al-Zahawi said: "We must all look at our energy consumption, It is a difficult time, and there is a war in our continent, and very few people expected war. Wars happen in distant places, but we have to remain steadfast ."
Zahawi's comments come as experts warn that there is a risk of power outages in the winter, especially if problems in Norway and France reduce their exports to the UK .
Adam Bell, the government's former head of energy strategy, predicted a 10 per cent chance of several days this winter when "some domestic consumers lose power for short hours ".
