The US government said that it will suspend 26 flights to China from the United States operated by four Chinese airlines in response to the Chinese government's decision to suspend some flights of American airlines due to Covid-19 injuries.
The decision suspended some flights operated by Xiamen, China Airlines (Air China), China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines, starting from the 5th of September until the 28th of the same month.
The US Department of Transportation indicated the recent cancellation of flights by American Airlines (American Airlines), Delta Airlines and United Airlines due to injuries to Covid-19.
A spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Washington, Liu Pengyu, said the US Department of Transportation's decision was "completely irresponsible" and "unfoundedly suspended Chinese flights."
The embassy said China's measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are fair and transparent, applicable to Chinese and foreign airlines, and in line with bilateral air transport agreements.
