D30 Cannon manufactured by national efforts : Defense Ministry

Ministry of Defense announced Thursday the manufacture of the D30 cannon with national efforts, while it indicated the success of its pilot test, it sent a letter to the Defense Industries Commission .

The Director of the Examination and Acceptance Department in the Ministry, Major General Muhammad Sabih Muhammad, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Defense Industries Commission was able to manufacture the 120-mm D30 cannon with 100% national efforts," noting that "the initial examination of the cannon was conducted and it proved successful."  

Muhammad added, "The cannon is important, and has high accuracy in the field in contact with the enemy, and it is one of the weapons approved by the world armies and can be used with the artillery of the Iraqi army," noting that "the performance of firing by the cannon is very good, and there were no interruptions or defective side effects in manufacturing."  

He continued, "What remains is to evaluate the classification on the mechanisms in it and the parts of the cannon and the extent of their impact and firing on it, in order to announce the results of the final examination," expressing his hope that "the Defense Industries Commission will continue to manufacture the needs of the Iraqi army in order to preserve the national security of the country."

Muhammad called on the Defense Industries Commission to "more industrialize and advance the weapons industry in support of the Iraqi army and other security services."
