Air Defense: Iraq's airspace is secure

    The Air Defense Command set, today, Thursday, the date for the completion of the early detection system, and while she indicated that all aircraft enter Iraqi airspace in accordance with official approvals, she confirmed that the country's airspace is secure.

    The Commander of the Air Defense, Lieutenant-General Maan al-Saadi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Iraq's skies are completely secured in terms of monitoring and detection, but there are open violations of the air defense command and our system," noting that "the sky of Iraq in terms of detection and monitoring is under control." . 

    Al-Saadi added, "There is a contract with the French side to supply Iraq with long-range radars at a high altitude, as the first two advanced radars arrived a few days ago, and successively others will arrive until the end of the year.". Guidance for radars and signal transmission. 
    He continued, "With this, our skies will be completely controlled without the help of civilian radars, whether they are in Najaf Airport and Kirkuk, and work will begin in less than a month until its installation is completed and the temporary infrastructure for it is completed, and after work begins, the complete infrastructure will be built.".

    He stated, "Within the contract, there is maintenance and logistical support for a year, and there is training for Iraqi cadres, as some of them traveled to France and entered the course, and the other section will participate in other courses because the radar contains many specializations.".

    He pointed out that "the process of opening up and securing Iraq's skies in most of the provinces is present in the form of collars and the protection of entire provinces, whether in the north, center or south, in addition to the installation of an Iraqi air defense system in the northern provinces, where a meeting was held on this matter and was discussed and a meeting was held with the region, And whenever a decision is issued by the Commander in Chief and the Minister of Defense, there are systems ready for the purpose of opening and securing protection.” 
    He stated, "All aircraft that enter Iraqi airspace are within the official approvals of the Joint Operations Command and the Civil Aviation Authority, with some violations, but they are alerted about them before dealing with them," explaining that "there are some violations that have been recorded and noted for the purpose of not repeating them." ".
