A joint force kills a terrorist who tried to infiltrate from Makhoul Mountains, SMC reports

The Security Media Cell (SMC) announced on Monday, the killing of a terrorist who tried to infiltrate from the Makhoul Mountains.

SMC said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "A joint force from the 51st Infantry Brigade, the Sixth Infantry Brigade in the Popular Mobilization and the 91st Infantry Brigade managed to thwart an infiltration attempt by ISIS terrorist gangs from the Makhoul Mountains and killed a terrorist element."

The statement added, "A force from the Peace Brigades thwarted last night an attempt to attack the security forces in Samarra, which led to the martyrdom of two members of the Brigades, was unable to confront the security forces that swore that the just retribution from ISIS would be doubly.”

It stressed that "the security services have begun to follow up and prosecute those involved."
