Iraq and the Czech Republic hold a joint meeting on the double taxation agreement

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday, the holding of a joint meeting with the Czech Republic to review the provisions of the draft double taxation agreement.
     
    A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the joint meeting to review the terms of the draft double taxation agreement and prevent tax evasion on income and capital between the governments of the Republic of Iraq and the Czech Republic was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building."

    The statement added, "The Iraqi side was headed by the Head of the Europe Department, Ambassador Safia Talib Al-Suhail, and for the Czech side, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Iraq, Peter Stepanek, with the participation of representatives from the European Department and the Legal Department at the Ministry's center, and representatives of the Iraqi Ministry of Finance."

    Al-Suhail pointed out that "this agreement is very important in strengthening and developing joint economic relations between the two countries, and developing their cooperation in tax matters."

    In turn, the Czech ambassador expressed his "thanks to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Finance for holding the technical deliberative meeting of the draft agreement above."
