MOC considers the Turkish attack as a breach of sovereignty

    Iraqi Ministry of Culture – MOC considered on Wednesday, the Turkish attack on Iraq as a breach to sovereignty. 
     
    "We express our strong condemnation to the Turkish bombing of a resort in Zakho, which led to the martyrdom of 8 citizens and wounding of 23 citizens, all of whom were civilian tourists," said the ministry in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
     
    The statement included, "This bombing is a clear and flagrant violation of Iraqi sovereignty, as it threatens the lives and security of Iraqi citizens, as well as societal peace. We demand an urgent investigation into these violations and their non-recurrence."
     
    The Ministry called on the Turkish side to stop these attacks in the interest of the good relationship between the two countries, and for the tourism movement, which is witnessing a development in recently."
     
    ""Iraq adheres to the principles of good neighborliness, and in return refuses to use security justifications to threaten the lives of Iraqi citizens and attack the territory of Iraq, which is a repudiation of the principles of good neighborliness, international agreements, relations and joint cooperation,” according to the statement.
