The Iraqi government has signed the Gulf Electricity Interconnection Agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that "Iraq has signed with the Saudi side an agreement to link electric power with the Gulf."
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the Jeddah Security and Development Summit.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced an agreement to link the electric power grid in Iraq with the Gulf Cooperation Council.
