Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi confirmed on Wednesday, upcoming convening of the Iraqi-Italian Joint Ministerial Committee.
“Al-Kadhimi received the Italian Ambassador to Iraq Maurizio Greganti,” the Media Office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
“During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and the best ways to develop these relations, they discussed enhancing joint cooperation between Iraq and Italy in the mechanisms of counterterrorism as well as cooperation in security, and economic and cultural fields,” the statement added.
The Prime Minister welcomed the Italian willingness to enhance the partnership between the two countries in various fields and mentioned the upcoming convening of the Iraqi-Italian Joint Ministerial Committee, and its next meeting in Baghdad, which demonstrates the willingness of the two countries to strengthen cooperation and coordination of positions.
