Iraq and Azerbaijan discuss activating memoranda of understanding between them

    Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah discussed with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Aziz Oglu Bayramov the strengthening of bilateral relations and the activation of memorandums of understanding between the two friendly countries.

    The media office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the head of the Iraqi delegation participating in the "Baku" international conference, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azizoglu Bayramov, met at the headquarters of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. During the meeting, they discussed topics and issues of common interest, including ways to enhance bilateral diplomatic relations between the two countries, representatives, members of the delegation and the charge d'affaires in the capital Baku attended the meeting. 

    During the meeting, Abdullah stressed the need to activate the memorandums of understanding between Baghdad and Baku, especially as there are common cultural and religious ties between the two friendly peoples, as well as the importance of continuing coordination, cooperation and exchange of visits at the governmental and parliamentary levels, activating tourism, opening airlines and facilitating the granting of entry visas to Iraqi expatriates to Azerbaijan.
