Bitumen Wells in Hit..A national wealth waiting for investment

    Citizens of Anbar Governorate demanded, today, Tuesday, that Oyun Al-Qyr (Bitumen wells) in Hit district be referred to investment because it constitutes a national wealth in the province, as well as being a source of income for hundreds of families. 
    Researcher Hamid Al-Hiti told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The Bitumen Wells extend in the form of a crescent, which is frozen oil and physiologically variable, and this crescent extends from Haditha to Hit.".

    He added, "The material is used in many services that people need, especially in construction. It contains an insulating material against moisture that is used for foundations in buildings as well as for painting surfaces.

    Despite the development and availability of many insulating materials and from global sources most citizens still use bitumen as a The strongest and longest-lived material that is resistant to all weather conditions. 

    For his part, citizen Ahmed Khalaf Nahar told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We inherited the work of the eyes of the poor from our fathers and grandfathers, and we cannot work in another profession because we are accustomed to it."

    He added, "Hundreds of families in the governorate work in the eyes of al-Qir, where it is packed in special drums for the purpose of painting the roofs of houses and foundations," pointing out that there are more than ten wells in the district of Hit


    Al-Iraqiya (NAA), “The bitumen wells are considered one of the landmarks of Hit, as they have types, including (Liyan bitumen, Siyali bitumen, Qyr-Qast, and Qyr-Zakadi),” noting that "The bitumen has many uses, including for painting surfaces and floors, and including medical uses, as it is used to treat some diseases. In addition, the lime is used in splinting fractures and also relieves joint pain. 

    The citizen asked the Lord to refer Al-Ayoun to investment and rescue it from neglect, as it is considered a source for many people in the province.”.

      The Bitumen wells in the district of Hit, west of Anbar, are among the oldest wells in Iraq, as they are more than five thousand years old.
