Al-Araji: The multiplicity of sects and religions is a strength for the country

    National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji stressed Tuesday the need to proceed with a single national discourse in order to enhance the principle of peaceful coexistence, while stressing that the multiplicity of sects and religions is a strength for the country.

    The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, received, in his office today, a delegation of Christians from Nineveh ," noting that "Al-Araji welcomed the delegation, which included dignitaries and Christian religious figures from among the sons of  Nineveh .

    The statement added, "The delegation presented the shield of excellence to Al-Araji, in appreciation of his patriotic stances," noting that "it’s appreciation of the work of the National Security Advisory, and the role it plays in promoting peaceful coexistence among the components of the Iraqi people."

    Al-Araji stressed that "pluralism in sects and religions is a strength for the country," stressing "the need to proceed with a single national discourse, in order to enhance the principle of peaceful coexistence among all."

    He pointed to "the importance of communicating with all segments of Iraqi society."
