Kurdistan Prime Minister Masrour Barzani discussed on Sunday, with Iraqi military and security delegation headed by Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Abdul Amir Yarallah, cooperation between the army and the Peshmerga.
The media office of the President of the Regional Government said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received today Sunday ,a high-ranking Iraqi military and security delegation headed by the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army, Lieutenant-General Abdul Amir Yar Allah."
“Combating terrorism requires enhanced cooperation between the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga forces in the areas of Article 140 of the constitution,”Barzani stressed.
The Prime Minister called for actively integrating the Peshmerga forces in the national defense strategy of Iraq, stressing that the Iraqi army shall reflect a true representation of the components of the Iraqi people.
