The Police Command in Maysan province announced on Friday, the arrest of (34) wanted persons in criminal cases and various legal violations, including those accused of terrorism, as well as the seizure of weapons.
The police command stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "34 defendants were arrested on various charges, including terrorism charges," noting that "11 AK47, two hunting Riffle, and a BKC weapon (3) were seized and a GC Riffle."
The statement added, "The arrests of the wanted persons and the seizure of weapons took place within the past 24 hours during security practices carried out by police detachments from the directorates of the investigation departments in various sectors of responsibility, with the participation of police emergency regiments and intelligence services," pointing to "taking legal measures against all the accused, and arresting them fundamentally and transferring the weapons to the competent authorities.”
