Arresting a terrorist, burning and destroying Daesh hideout in Baghdad

The Security Media Cell announced on Monday, arresting a terrorist, burning and destroying a hideout for Daesh terrorist gangs in Baghdad.

"In implementation of the directives of the Operations Command Staff Lieutenant-General to activate intelligence efforts to follow up on terrorist elements, and in coordination with the Director of the Intelligence and Security Department of Baghdad Operations Command, a force from the 44th Brigade, Eleventh Infantry Division, as well as according to accurate intelligence information, that detected the presence of a terrorist element within the sector of responsibility, managed to set up a tight ambush in "Al-Shaab" area, east of Baghdad, which resulted in the arrest of the accused according to Article 1/4 of terrorism, in terms of a judicial arrest warrant issued by the Iraqi judiciary," stated SMC in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The statement included that "The terrorist was handed over to the competent authorities to take legal measures against him, while a force from the 55th Brigade, the 17th Infantry Division, managed to destroy and burn a den of Daesh terrorist gangs within the areas south of Baghdad," noting that "the den contains supplies and materials used by terrorist elements to harm our innocent people, as it was hidden underground in plastic containers."
