Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirmed seeking to expand the scope of the framework agreement between Iraq and China.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received today, Thursday, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Iraq, Cui Wei, and his accompanying delegation."
During the meeting, Al-Kadhimi expressed "the government's interest in developing bilateral relations with China, and establishing real long-term partnerships in various fields, foremost of which are energy, reconstruction, economic and educational projects, especially building schools," expressing Iraq's desire to "strengthen cultural cooperation, and deepen ties between the Iraqi and Chinese peoples." .
He stressed, "striving to expand the scope of the framework agreement between Iraq and China, to include more projects that serve the two friendly peoples."
In turn, the Chinese ambassador conveyed the greetings of the Chinese leadership, and its emphasis on seeking to develop bilateral relations, thanking "the Prime Minister for paying attention to the consolidation of bilateral relations and the progress achieved in this field recently."
The ambassador reiterated "China's support for Iraq's growing efforts to support regional stability and combat terrorism."
