Birol: We deal exclusively with Baghdad with the energy file

Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail stressed, during his meeting with the head of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, the need to develop and rehabilitate oil and gas fields, while Birol indicated that international energy deals with Baghdad exclusively in the energy file.

A statement by the Ministry of Oil, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail met in the French capital (Paris) the head of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, and during the meeting, the importance of the role that Iraq plays in the global energy file was emphasized.".

He added, "The meeting stressed the need to unify national energy plans, and work to develop and rehabilitate oil and gas fields through integrated projects in a manner that achieves the optimal investment of national wealth, especially since Iraq has the ability to enhance its position in crude oil production to ensure the stability of the global energy and oil market." .

For his part, the head of the International Energy Agency confirmed, according to the statement, that "the agency deals with Baghdad exclusively as it possesses the authority, authority and ability to take legal decisions on the energy file at the internal and external levels."
