Defense Minister Jumaa Enad Saadoun and the new NATO mission commander, Lieutenant-General Giovanni M. Iannucci, discussed Monday, ways to provide support in the field of training.
A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Minister of Defense, Jumaa Inad Saadoun, met in his office at the ministry headquarters, this morning, the commander of the new NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant-General Giovanni M. Iannucci, and his accompanying delegation," noting that "the minister welcomed at the beginning of the meeting the new commander, and wished him success in his work.
The statement added that "during the meeting, they discussed the progress of the NATO mission in Iraq and the support it could provide to the Ministry of Defense in the future, especially in the field of training."
