Prime Minister the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, directed on the necessity of continuing to secure citizens during the days of Eid Al-Fitr.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), on Monday, that "Al-Kadhimi visited the headquarters of the Joint Operations Command, and held a meeting with the security leaders."
The statement added, " Prime Minister offered his congratulations and best wishes to our heroic fighters, officers, ranks and affiliates of various ranks and formations, on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, asking Allajh Almighty to preserve Iraq and its heroes in the armed forces."
Al-Kadhimi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the leaders and members of the security forces for the great efforts they made in maintaining the security of citizens during the blessed month of Ramadan, and thwarting the enemy’s plans to tamper with the security situation inside the cities.
He stressed, "The enemy tried to target the cities, but our intelligence effort and the vigilance of the security forces thwarted its plans, and directed the need to continue with this great effort to secure citizens during the days of Eid Al-Fitr, and to redouble efforts to secure the borders."
During the visit, Al-Kadhimi listened to a detailed presentation by the security leaders of what had been accomplished, he also contacted the rest of the operations leaders in the governorates to see the progress of security tasks and the implementation of the duties assigned to each of the sectors of responsibility.
