Al-Kadhimi affirms Iraq's solidarity with Lebanon after the boat accident

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi expressed today, Monday, Iraq's solidarity with Lebanon, following the boat accident.

 The Media Office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Kadhimi made a phone call with his Lebanese counterpart, Najib Mikati, to offer condolences for the victims of the boat."

The statement added, "During the call, the Prime Minister expressed deep solidarity and consolation on behalf of the Iraqi government and people with the brotherly Lebanese people, and the families of the victims of the sinking boat, wishing them patience and solace."

The statement indicated that "Al-Kadhimi expressed his readiness to provide the required support within Iraq's position in provision of its Lebanese brothers."

Seven people were dead while trying to travel on a boat in Tripoli, northern Lebanon.
